Sub Clubs
Book Club
Reading is one of those leisure activities we moms rarely get the chance to indulge in, but book club is a great excuse to find the time! Meeting one Friday a month as a Members' Night Out event the club chooses a new book to discuss each month, usually over dinner at a local restaurant. Members enjoy a child-free night with good food and great conversation.
Coupon Club
The coupon club is a group of moms who want to get the most for their dollar! The club keeps each other updated on the current area deals and promotions. The club meets occasionally for coupon swaps, and it is a great way to trade the coupons you don't need, for ones that you do! Whether you are a couponing novice, or couponing pro, learning to save money for your family is just another benefit that MOW gives you!
Craft Club
The craft club meets monthly as either a Play Group or Members Night Out to work on a variety of craft projects. Sometimes the meetings have themes, such as holiday or Father's Day gifts, or just a new craft that everyone wants to try. The host provides the venue along with space to work. Members bring food to share and a group craft, or sometimes we just use the time and space to work on scrapbooks, knitting, or whatever project each person wants to get caught up on.
Family Happy Hour
Family Happy Hours take place once a week (friday or saturday evenings) during the summer months. Host families provide a main course and guest families provide a dish of their choice. This is a wonderful opportunity for whole families to get to know one another and enjoy the beautiful summer weather.
Gardener's Club
The Gardener's Club is designed to share members' passion for gardening. Flower and vegetable gardeners alike meet to swap seeds, share tips, advice, techniques and of course, enjoy one another's gardens. The group kicked off this winter in preparation for the spring growing season, and members are very excited!
Recipe Club
What's for dinner? The Recipe Club has some great ideas! Each week members submit recipes according to a predetermined theme (chicken dishes, hamburger recipe or mexican dish, etc.). The recipes are compiled and posted at Cook Book Tree (search for "MOW Cookbook")
MOW 1500 Runners/Walkers
The MOW 1500 began as a challenge for club members to collectively log 1500 miles of foot travel during the three summer months. The idea caught on, and both runners and walkers regularly get together for small group walks and runs. We even have several members competing in everything from 5k races to marathons!
